Gala Coral group have in the past been struggling to maintain a competative edge in relation to the other online gaming companies. Gala is a well known and established gaming company with years of experience, but in todays market they appear to be unable to compete with the bigger brands.
In an attempt to boost the profile of the company, it has been reported that discussions with onlinge gaming software providers Playech to provide all the software services for its entire operation have begun. Playtech operate the Virtue Fusion bingo software that is popular acrosss a wide selection of online bingo sites – Virgin Bingo, Mecca Bingo, Betfred Bingo among them.
A Gala source is quoted as saying, 'Gala makes money on its online bingo, but its sport betting really punches below its weight. Now that Playtech is free to talk to other operators, everything pointed to a deal between it and Gala.' The source went on, 'This is a very positive strategic move for them. When the economic climate improves there are likely to be significant changes within the structure of Gala, but these are unlikely to affect the fact that Gala will continue to offer bingo online in its own name, as they have already rejected a bid for this area of the business.'
