Goodwill Industries of North Louisiana are all set to hold their flagship fund-raising event of the calender on March 1st. Join them if you can at Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino for The Black Tie Bingo Charity Event.
Money raised from this event will be used to help place people in a specially created workforce development program.
Rozann Frey, Goodwill’s development coordinator, said “We find jobs for people that are either displaced or need to be out in the work force again, that have not been able to, We are able to provide help and comfort and a future for a lot of people that might not have one otherwise. We just try to help those less fortunate.”
In its third year, Black Tie Bingo helped more than 700 people in the workforce development program, according to Frey, and hope this year (Its Forth) will do even better.
The event is MC’ed by local radio personality Larry Ryan, and will contain over 200 Auction items being sold to the highest bidder, along with a Raffle that boasts a John Hardy necklace valued at $2,200, and many other prizes.
Bob Crosby, general manager of Yokem Toyota, is providing the use a 2025 RAV 4 for a year, as a fantastic additional prize.
“People seem to be pretty willing to give even though the economy is not as strong as it could be, but everyone knows Goodwill and it’s a wonderful cause,” Frey said. Lets hope they are even more generous for the guys at Black Tie Bingo this year..
